Trekking in Nepal is the #1 reason people come to our Himalayan nation. Hardcore Nepal is proud to offer Nepal’s most popular treks, and well as some exclusive cultural treks in Nepal.
If you are like most people, Mt. Everest is the first thing you think of when you think “Nepal.” So, of course we offer the popular Everest Base Camp Trek to our clients. But for those of you who are looking for some less “touristy” and more remote, consider our Chhepang Village trek. The Chhepangs, sometime called “cave people” by locals, is one of Nepal’s most primitive communities. For students of anthropology, sociology, religion or linguistics, a visit to the Chhepang villages will open your eyes to a lost world. It is a great starting point for research in these fields.
More popular treks like Annapurna Circuit, Poon Hill, Gosainkunda and Langtang are also on our trekking roster, so let us help you pick a trek that is right for you. Some treks in Nepal are more difficult than others, or better to do at certain times of year, so please do contact us with any questions you have about trekking in Nepal.
“I am not very athletic, but I wanted to trek in Nepal. I choose the Helembu Trek from Kathmandu because I could choose to do anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks (if I decided I wanted to keep going to the Gosaindkunda region). It ended up being perfect for me. I did only 5 days, because I was trekking in July (yes, monsoon trekking!) and the rain got to be too much for me, but it was 5 AWESOME days! One night, we stayed with a Sherpa family who were totally self-sufficient, they had buffalos, chickens, a huge garden, local rice wine — everything. Their home was NOT a guesthouse, but when they saw we were trudging through the rain and knew the next village was quite far, they welcomed us in. They had all the best food (yogurt, omlettes, meat, veggies, local wine) and were happy to have Westerners staying in their home. It was one of my best memories of staying in Nepal. I hope to trek up the Helembu region again to say “tasidele” to them!”
