Nepal Earthquake Update – April 25, 2015
As the day winds down here in our USA offices of Hardcore Nepal, I have been posting, emailing, and messaging more than I ever have in my life. I am happy to say that I have talked to most of our guides, or talked to others, who have confirmed that our Hardcore Nepal climbers are safe.
We did have guests climbing today in Bimal Nagar (Gorkha district) when the earthquake hit. “He was climbing on the rock face when things started shaking; we had to lower him down,” said Ram Chandra BK, senior guide at Hardcore Nepal.
In Kathmandu, our climbing team and guests at Nagarjun Forest were not directly affected by the earthquake. However, as the evening approached they returned to the rubble and crowded streets of Kathmandu. Most stayed on the street for the night as buildings were collapsing with the aftershocks and they did not feel safe inside.
If you have a family member or friend with our tours at this time, rest assured that our guides will do their best to be sure that they have food and shelter during this time of emergency in Nepal. If you were booked on an upcoming trip with Hardcore Nepal Adventures, please stay in touch with us and we will let you know when and if trips will be running as usual in the upcoming days and weeks.
Phone networks are overwhelmed in Kathmandu at this moment. Please phone our USA office if you need any assistance. 407 519 8711. As our friends around the world wake up, we are ready for another day. We appreciate all who have checked in on our Hardcore Nepal Family. Our guests always become everlasting friends.
Thank you for your support of Nepal.
